What is East Coast Swing?
A dance accessible to all, East Coast Swing rose to prominence in the 1940s as popular music evolved towards rock and roll, rockabilly, and boogie-woogie. Dance studios cultivated East Coast Swing as a swing dance style that was attractive and easy for the general public to learn. This lively dance can be performed on its own or seamlessly integrated into Lindy Hop Swing, the dance from which it draws from.

Come learn a variety of Swing dance styles in these beginner-friendly classes that cover basic principles and moves to get you grooving to the music. Enjoy the traditional jazz styling of Lindy Hop, the rockin' rhythms of East Coast Swing, and the modern pop of West Coast Swing. This introductory course is perfect for getting a taste of three different styles of Swing dancing. No dance experience or partner required. Classes conducted through SLC Pursuit Co.

East Coast Swing Basics
Discover the fun, easy style of East Coast Swing in this welcoming beginner class!
Learn the fundamentals of timing, footwork, partner connection, rhythm, and a few classic moves in a fun environment. No experience or partner is required-everyone is welcome! Classes in partnership with Basin Recreation Fieldhouse.
