West Coast Swing in Salt Lake City

Originating in California, West Coast Swing is a captivating style of swing dance that emerged from Lindy Hop Swing during the 1940's and 1950's. This dance form is deeply rooted in the swing performances seen in Hollywood films, while also embracing influences from swing dancers in the east who made their way westward. As popular music evolved over the years, swing dancing preserved its vitality by adapting its style and essence to match contemporary musical trends. Today, the same swing dance moves are performed to a diverse array of musical genres, including disco, R&B, pop dance, rock, hip-hop, and many more.
